Richard J.Brzostek - 05/01/2007 An atypical romance, February 11, 2006
"Love Stories" is a romance, but an atypical one. This movie is dedicated to Krzystof Kieslowski, and captures the powerful sense of drama and magic always found in Kieslowski's films.
The story is about four men and how they handle love. The four men are all played by the same actor (Jerzy Stuhr), who also directed the film. Using the same actor made me think this man's life could have taken many paths, and within each path there are also many possibilities. Moreover, many other details make "Love Stories" an intellectual movie.
"Love Stories" is a brilliant work of cinematographic art. The story is sophisticated and meaningful, and all of the details add up coherently, providing a powerful message about life. If you enjoy Kieslowski, you should also like this film. |
